Supervisor Stock Worker

The Fire Department, City of New York (FDNY), seeks a full-time Supervisor of Stock Worker in the Bureau of Enterprise Technology.

The successful candidate will provide advanced operational support and oversight of IT asset inventory, storage, tracking, distribution, and accountability throughout FDNY Headquarters and field locations across the five boroughs.

Coordinate the receiving, storage, organization, tracking, and distribution of IT assets at Headquarters and other FDNY locations. Oversee and maintain the organization and inventory accuracy of BET IT storage areas.

Track IT equipment purchases and receiving activity through the eCMS procurement system and maintain accurate inventory receiving records.

Ensure IT assets are properly tagged and accurately recorded in the asset tracking system, including manufacturer, model, serial number, asset tag, location, and other required information.

Coordinate the disbursement and movement of IT equipment for deployments, repairs, replacements, special projects, and other operational needs. Conduct and coordinate regular physical inventories and audits to verify asset location, condition, and accountability.

Identify and reconcile inventory discrepancies and ensure records are updated timely and accurately. Coordinate the movement of IT assets between Headquarters, storage facilities, and field locations throughout the five boroughs.

Assist with establishing and improving inventory-control procedures, asset-tracking practices, and storage processes. Provide guidance and direction to staff assisting with inventory, receiving, storage, and equipment-distribution activities.

Prepare inventory reports and provide status updates to management regarding equipment, discrepancies, and operational needs. Ensure IT asset activities are performed in accordance with FDNY policies, procedures, and applicable inventory-control requirements.

Strong knowledge of computerized inventory systems, warehouse machinery, OSHA safety requirements, and inventory reconciliation procedures. Ability to coordinate multiple operational priorities, resolve inventory discrepancies, and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.

Experience working with vendors and managing high-value inventory is preferred. OSHA forklift certification and a valid New York State driver's license are required. Good organizational skills, Good communication skills and Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
