Privacy
What we keep, and how to delete it.
You can use every job page, guide and the Match without giving us anything. We only hold what you choose to give us, we never sell it, and you can delete it yourself at any time.
What we store
- Your email address
- Only if you give it to us: to sign in, or to get alerts. It is how we send you the emails you asked for.
- Which email lists you are on
- Job alerts, the 911 exam reminder, a title you asked us to watch, or deadline reminders for jobs you saved, and the date you joined. If you turn deadline reminders off, we keep the date you did, so saving another job never turns them back on.
- Saved jobs and Match answers
- Only if you sign in and save them. Your five Match answers (school, timing, interests, nights, borough) and the jobs you saved.
- When you signed up and last signed in
- Dates, so a session can expire and a sign-in link can be checked.
- Which alerts we sent you, by day
- So nobody gets the same alert twice. Cleared after 30 days.
Sign-in links and sessions are stored only as scrambled codes (hashes), so even our own database can't be used to sign in as you. A sign-in link works once, for 15 minutes. You stay signed in as long as you visit at least once every two months.
What we don't store
- Your name, phone number, address, or anything about your background beyond the Match answers.
- Passwords. There are none: you sign in with a link we email you.
- Your IP address. We use it for one hour to stop abuse (too many sign-ups from one place), stored only as a scrambled code that is deleted within a day.
- Tracking or advertising cookies, analytics, or anything that follows you around the web. The site has none.
On your phone
Some things are kept only in your browser, not on our servers: your light or dark setting, jobs you save before signing in, your Match answers, and the last email you typed. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes them.
Who else sees it
- Cloudflare hosts the site and the database.
- Resend sends our emails, so it sees your address and the email we send you, and keeps its own delivery logs.
- Nobody else. We don't sell, rent or share your information, and nobody pays us to send you anything.
How to stop or delete
- Stop an email list: every email has a one-tap unsubscribe link. It removes you from that list right away.
- Delete everything: sign in, open Your plan, and tap "Delete my account and data". Your account, saved jobs, Match answers and every email list are removed from our database immediately. If you only ever signed up for alerts, signing in with that email works too.
- Emails already delivered stay in your inbox and in Resend's delivery logs; we can't reach those.
