Open to candidates who are permanent. The mission of the Bureau of Public Health Clinics is to promote a healthy community by providing New Yorkers with the resources needed to make informed and empowered health decisions; identify and treat tuberculosis and provide immunization and sexual health services regardless of ability to pay or immigration status. It is also the Bureau's vision to provide timely, accessible, high-quality, equitable and respectful care that helps improve the lives of our patients and contributes to a healthier community. The Public Health Advisors, L2 will work in one of the Bureau's Quickie Lab and report directly to the Express Clinic Supervisor. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO: • Manage collection rooms, disinfect surface areas after each collection. • Perform HIV rapid INSTI tests. • Provide HIV test results. • Prepare specimen collection kits for patients. • Deliver specimens to Quickie Lab Answer patient questions and inquiries. • Review patients' reasons for visit. • Conduct confidential advising of patients when diagnosed with STI, HIV or Covid to refer for follow-ups, as appropriate • Enter data into the EMR/EPIC: Post patient results and other information, when applicable. • Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with staff and management to meet employee and client needs and objectives.
