**Reports To**:Start Up Lead (NFPS)

**Basic Function**:
Plan, coordinate and monitor the safety, health, environment and security issues pertaining to the NFPS Projects to ensure project deliverables comply with approved project plans.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Analyse safety performance, track and report HSE performance metrics; provide leadership/oversight; review and advise on behavioral observation and inte rvention requirements; monitor and report safety risks and mentor contractors, sub-contractors and third party stakeholders to ensure a consistent and incident free environment is provided throughout the lifespan of the Project.

Audit and monitor Project construct ion activities at regular intervals in order to identify any unsafe acts, verify whethe r safe working practices are being adhered to and to ensure Project safety procedures are being complied with.

Assist with formal investigations into safety incidents and ensure that root causes, corrective actions and preventative measures are recorded and shared for wider learning.

Examine safety trends and monitor and review behavioral safety, safety observations and Project safety culture to proactively address safety risks.

Facilitate Safety Observations/llF program and cascading of periodic safety campaigns throughout the NFPS organization.

Participate in Emergency Response/Business Continuity activities and support risk assessments and studies (HAZID, HAZOPS and SILS) to ensure readiness for emergency situations.

Actively perform management site SHE&S inspection tours and daily site walkabouts to provide visible participation and support the Project SHE&S culture.

Develop the safety campaigns, support the implementations at sites and facilitate HSE training and orientation requirements to ensure the Project operates within HSE requirements, deliverables and expectations.

**Work Contacts**:
Internal frequent contact with Project Supervisors/Managers, Head of Section, Operation Coordinators and other SME as necessary. Regular contact with other contractors.

**Independence of Operation**:
Devises work methods according to general directives, Company policies and specialized professional standards.
**Physical Effort**:
50% Desk base and 50% standing and walking

**Work Environment**

50% Exposed to noise, heat, grease, humidity.

50% Air conditioned office/control room environment.

**Minimum Requirements**

6 years’ varied experience in safety operations within the oil and gas industry including offshore working knowledge.

Knowledge of SHE&S standards, codes and practices together with Qatargas policies, practices, processes and expectations.

Excellent written and spoken English skills.

Strong analytical and planning skills.

Good computer literacy in MS Office, Excel and SAP.

**Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries**:
Operates within a well structured environment with a clear reporting framewo rk and documented departmental procedures available.

The duties of this position are mainly carried out within the field and Company’s office environment.

Problem Solving and Job Complexity:
Undertaking tasks of a more complex nature and acting as a source of guidance to less experienced staff in the area.
