**Basic Function**:
Expansion Project Instrument support activities, which may include pre-comm1ss1oni ng, commissioning, preservation and start-up tasks. Also, support to core operations installation, calibration, minor troubleshooting and general maintenance of instrumentation and control system associated with Qatargas Offshore or Onshore operation.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Participates in pre-commissioning/commissioning, preservation and start-up of new equipment & facilities.
Maintains all Instrument and Control Systems at a high degree of operational availability.
Under the direction of the Instrument Foreman or Senior Instrument Technicians, receives Work Orders, Preventive Maintenance Routines, Safety Permits and appropriate engineering drawings and carries-out assignments.
Under the direction of the Instrument Foreman or Senior Instrument Technicians, carries out in a safe manner, field troubleshooting, calibration and replacement of Instrument devices.
Assists Senior Instrument Technicians in minor Instrumentation modifications.
Actively assists Senior Instrument Technicians in shutdown work.
Ensures that all work carried out is in accordance of safe working procedures, safety permits and regulations.
**Work Contacts**:
Liaisons daily with maintenance, Instrument Senior Technicians and Foreman.

Devises work methods according to general directives, Company policies and specialized professional standards.
**Physical Effort**:
Approx. Average 70% walking, standing & climbing.
Approx. Average 30% use of hand tools and calibration equipment.
**Work Environment**
30% Air conditioned office/control room environment.
70% Exposed to noise, heat, grease, humidity.
**Minimum Requirements**
Completed Secondary High School Education and have acquired normal technical training in Instrumentation or Electrical Trade from a recognize apprenticeship or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years experience in maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting techniques of a variety of Instrumentation and Control Systems, in the Oil, Gas or Petrochemical Industries.
Familiar with the fundamentals of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Safety Shutdown Systems.
Fluent in English language (primarily in “Spoken English” to reasonable degree in “Written English”).
Ability to read P & ID’s and be familiar with Ladder Logic Schematics.
